APK (Android Package Kit) is the file format that Android uses to distribute and install apps. This type of file contains all the elements that an app needs to install correctly on your device. Never install an APK from an unknown source.
Note: The instructions and screenshots in this article were created using a Samsung Galaxy S23 running Android 13. Your user interface and experience may be different.
1. With the device on which you’re installing the app, access this link:
2. You may see a pop-up confirming the file download. Select Download. This should install the file in your device’s downloads folder.
3. In your Settings, enable the option to install apps from unknown sources. You may be prompted to select the location from which apps from unknown sources can be installed. Select your Files app.

- For Samsung Galaxy S23, this setting is located under Settings > Apps > 3 dot menu > Special Access > Install unknown apps > Toggle My Files
4. From your files, select the app file called “app-playstore-release.apk.” A pop-up may appear. Select Install.
5. A pop-up may appear prompting you to confirm you would like to install the app. Select More details.
6. Select Install anyway.
7. After the app is installed, you should be able to open the app from your app selector like normal and log in with your Brown Paper Tickets main account or agent account credentials. Please note that the login username field is case sensitive.
