Designate Your Event as Explicit Adult Content, Age-Restricted, or Unsuitable for Children

Brown Paper Tickets is proud to support events of all kinds, shapes, and sizes. With such a wide variety, we recognize that some events may not be appropriate for all ages. There are a number of ways to designate this, depending on your needs.

Explicit Events Setting

If your event contains explicit adult content, you can designate this during event setup. Adult content can include:

  • Sexually suggestive material
  • Sexually explicit material

Designating an Event "Explicit Content" will enact the following:

    • Remove it from default search results
    • Include it in the Adult Events filter
    • Require customers to verify their age in order to view the event in search results

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide if your event contains explicit adult content—no one knows the event better than the organizer.

How To Designate Your Event as Explicit Content

      1. Log in to your Brown Paper Tickets account
      2. From the Account menu, select Manage Your Events
      3. Click GO! next to the event title
      4. Select the Search tab from the dark gray bar
      5. Under Kid Friendly check the box next to This event contains explicit content and should not be shown to minors.

Age-Restricted Events

If you're hosting an event that requires attendees to meet a minimum age requirement, you can include this during event setup. The age requirement will be displayed on the public event page and ticket buyers will be required to check a box before purchase stating that they understand the requirement.

How To Add a Minimum Age Requirement

      1. Log in to your Brown Paper Tickets account
      2. From the Account menu, select Manage Your Events
      3. Click GO! next to the event title
      4. Select the Settings tab from the dark gray bar
      5. Under Minimum Age, enter the minimum age required for a customer to be able to attend the event

Events That are Unsuitable for Children

Some events may not have an age requirement, but may be unsuitable for children due to the event content, environment, or other reasons. These events can be designated as not kid friendly, which will display on the public event page. Events designated as not kid friendly will be excluded if a user chooses to search only for kid friendly events.

How To Designate Your Event as Not Kid Friendly

      1. Log in to your Brown Paper Tickets account
      2. From the Account menu, select Manage Your Events
      3. Click GO! next to the event title
      4. Select the Search tab from the dark gray bar
      5. Under Kid Friendly, select No
